When planning a trip, I try to avoid shared accommodation where everyone is in an open space.
At first, I also avoided capsules, but now my mind has changed about them.
When traveling overland, accommodation costs play a significant role, so savings are welcome. However, the capsule usually provides an adequate level.
Capsule hotels offer tourists a simple solution for accommodation. You get access to a functional sleeping area with shared other services.
Usually I don't even know who I have as neighbors, and the people I've met have been nice people.
The capsule hotel has several capsules of the same size placed on top of each other and side by side in the apartment. The size of the capsule is usually about 2x1x1 meters, which means that there is only room for sleeping. Personally, I enjoyed them well anyway when I slept.
The capsule is a good place to read or calm down. If the height was, say, 1.5 meters, moving around would be much easier.
The capsule usually has plenty of sockets, so you can charge multiple devices at the same time. It could have more hanging hooks and shelves to make it easier to store clothes and things. There would be free wall space for hooks and shelves. Soundproofing and ventilation have been good.
The capsule can also have a TV and radio, and even a minibar. Washing facilities are shared. The washing and toilet facilities are usually clean and of good quality.
Capsule hotels are popular in big cities and tourist spots. They provide needed accommodation space.
Four photo carousels: At the top, a high-quality capsule in Vienna, the next slightly more modest capsule in Prague, the third a more open solution in Copenhagen and at the bottom a high-quality capsule hotel in Amsterdam.
