Go Land Routes

I traveled from Kemi to my daughter's family in Jyväskylä by OnniBus. The bus left at 12:30 from Rovaniemi with Helsinki as the destination. I boarded in Kemi at 14:00. My journey to Jyväskylä takes just under six hours.

Bus travel is not as troublesome as one might think. I traveled on a Saturday and there was just enough space in the bus. I have traveled this route a few times before and there has always been space. The best seat is in the front row of the second level. It is a great spot to watch the scenery and the cars on the road.

I bought my ticket two months before the trip. The price for a six-hour journey was just under 17 euros. The travel time and price for traveling by train via Tampere would have been about the same. Both are good options.

By bus from Northern Finland to Central Finland

The bus is a good option for traveling from the north to Central Finland. The train tracks diverge in Oulu to the west and east.
