What is Servas?

Members of Servas host each other during their travels. Servas also organizes various activities, like bike trips. Behind it all is the idea of peace.

Servas says on its pages: "Servas connects people for a more peaceful and sustainable world. Servas is a global and multicultural network of people sharing a vision that it’s possible to make the world a more peaceful place."

My route to Poland and back to Finland

The bike trip is organized by Servas Poland. Our base is in Zabierzow, which is near Krakow. I'm looking forward to seeing what’s coming.

I'm traveling from Northern Finland by train to Turku. From there, I take a ferry to Stockholm. From Stockholm, I travel by night train to Berlin and from there continue by train to Katowice. From there, I continue again by local train to Zabierzow.

I’ll make the return trip through the Baltics. Along the way are Warsaw, Kaunas, Riga, Tallinn. From Tallinn, I’ll take a ferry to Helsinki and from there continue by night train back home.

Bike trip in Poland - a nice summer trip by trains, ferry, buses, and bikes

Poland’s Servas is organizing a three-day cycling event near Krakow. I happily joined in.
