What is Servas?

Members of Servas host each other during their travels. Servas also organizes various activities, like bike trips. Behind it all is the idea of peace.

My route to Poland and back to Finland

The cycling trip was organized by Servas Poland. Our base was in Zabierzów, near Kraków. I traveled by train from Northern Finland to Turku. From there, I took a ferry to Stockholm. I then took a night train from Stockholm to Berlin and continued by train to Katowice. From there, the journey continued by local train to Zabierzów. I made the return journey via the Baltic states. The route included Warsaw, Kaunas, Riga, and Tallinn. From Tallinn, I took a ferry to Helsinki and continued home by night train.

Poland’s Servas is organizing a three-day cycling event near Krakow. I happily joined in.
