Metro services

Copenhagen Card

There are three metro lines operating in the city, with the green and yellow lines opening in 2002 and the red circular line in 2019. The Copenhagen metro operates without drivers. Internal transport is also served by buses and local trains.

S-tog is the local train system in the Copenhagen area, maintained by the Danish state railway company DSB. Currently, the system has 7 lines.

The system is complemented by the metro and an extensive bus network. The same ticket is valid for all three, even though they are operated by different companies. Most bus stops in the area are located near S-tog stations.

Near the train station is also the Copenhagen bus station (“Københavns Busstation” or simply “Busstationen”). The bus station is just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, making the transition from train to bus effortless.

The Øresund Bridge, which connects Copenhagen and Malmö, is a highly trafficked route. In 2023, approximately 20 million people traveled across the bridge.

Tivoli

One of the oldest amusement parks in the world, opened in 1843. Tivoli is especially beautiful in the evenings, when it is illuminated by thousands of lights. Tivoli is located near the train station.

Nyhavn

This vibrant harbor area is one of Copenhagen's most famous attractions. Its beautiful, historic buildings and lively atmosphere draw both locals and tourists.
