Early booking saves money
I have made numerous train journeys across Europe in recent years. My trips usually start in Haparanda, Sweden. At the turn of November and December, I travelled by train in my home country for a long time. I attended Susie Quatro's 60th anniversary concert in Tampere. On the same trip, I also explored Jyväskylä and Hyvinkää. The senior discount helped lower the train ticket prices a bit, but I received a major discount by booking the tickets well ahead of time
Kemi-Tampere for under 16 euros
The Susie Quatron concert took place on November 26th. I purchased a ticket on October 6th for €15.80. I booked tickets for the routes between Tampere and Jyväskylä, as well as Jyväskylä and Hyvinkää later, but still on time. They were cheaper, yet more expensive when factoring in the distance travelled. I returned from Jyväskylä to Kemi with Flixbus. I bought the ticket less than two months in advance, and it cost €15.50. Booking ahead saves money. It's helpful to take advantage of that whenever possible.
